
Master Sydney Reeser, a 7th Degree Black Belt, served as Chairperson of Public Relations of the United States Taekwondo Union. Master Reeser dedicated herself to the full-time study of Taekwondo in 1971 while she continued working at the San Francisco Presidio. In 1976, Master Reeser achieved a B.A. Degree from San Francisco State University and obtained her First Degree Black Belt in Taekwondo. While graduating up to 7th Degree Black Belt, Master Reeser worked as a Chief Instructor at Hamlin School and Cathedral Boys School in San Francisco. In 1974 she began teaching full-time at the Reitenbach Institute of Taekwondo while working as an Assistant Instructor at the University of San Francisco. She continues to hold these positions today.

Throughout the years Master Reeser has made many contributions to Taekwondo.
For example, as a 1976 AAU/USA Gold Medallist, she served as the Pacific Association’s AAU Taekwondo Treasurer in 1980. The following year, she was the California District Chairperson for the AAU Newsletter.In 1985, Master Reeser dedicated herself to being Director of the AAU/USA Junior Olympic Tournament for the Northern Region of California. Two years later, she became a Certified Continental U.S. Taekwondo Referee. Throughout this period, Master Reeser was receiving the President Sports Award from 1983-1989. She was certified as a United States Taekwondo Instructor in February, 1990 and participated in the October, 1990 United States Taekwondo Union Instructor Certification Symposium. Master Reeser has officiated numerous national, state and local Taekwondo championships and has coached many California State Junior Olympic Teams. In 1990, she received the Best Coach Award at the University of California, Berkeley 20th Annual Taekwondo Championship Tournament.
In addition to her dedication to her Taekwondo family, Master Reeser has also been a devoted mother to her son, James, who also studies taekwondo and holds a 5th Degree Black Belt. Master Reeser’s July, 1997 Graduation from the citizen-training program at the Daly City Police Academy exemplifies her dedication to her community. Furthermore, Master Reeser stays active with many other sports such as skiing, sailing and rollerblading while she continues to work with Grand Master Jerome Reitenbach to forge the future of taekwondo.
